COURSE OVERVIEW
Italia Conti now provides training for the internationally renowned RAD graded exams which are recognised for their quality, focusing on creativity and performance, providing opportunities to progress and achieve, developing technique, musicality and artistry.
COURSE SUMMARY
The Royal Academy of Dance Vocational Grades Programme provide a laddered in-depth study of ballet, developing music, performance and technique. The exam syllabus is highly focused and practical. Students are required to have the maturity and technical aptitude for demanding study. In addition to classes, students will be expected to revise exercise formats and technical corrections in their own time and be expected to do their own self-study.


COURSE STRUCTURE
Classes take place weekly in the evenings during term time.
Students are auditioned into a class by trialling a class viewed either by the Head of Ballet or the class teacher. Places are dependent on students being at the correct standard to execute the work to a safe and satisfactory standard. Teaching staff on the course will be qualified teachers with the Royal Academy of Dance, Italia Conti faculty members or Royal Academy of Dance Examiners.

Classes will begin online and continue at Italia Conti Barbican premises (once it is safe to do so following Government guidelines) with a view to moving to Woking on relocation of Italia Conti. At times classes may need to go online in cases of government directives.

SYLLABUS
There are two adjacent syllabi for students to select from; once selected students are required to follow the complete syllabus in its entirety. It is expected that students following the female syllabus will be required to work on pointe. For the Intermediate Foundation, the teacher will assess the suitability for pointe work, for other levels, dancers should have a good level of pointe. Students following the female syllabus will be required to wear a black leotard with tights that match their skin tone, students following the male syllabus will be required to wear a white leotard with black tights.

EXAM FEES
Students are advised that exam fees levied by the Examination Boards are in addition to the course fees quoted above. Students will be invoiced their exam fees upon application for entering an examination.
FEE PAYMENT
We will require your fee payment on completion of the form. You will received an email with the payment details to make the transfer. We are not able to process your application without this.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
ENTRY TO THE RAD PROGRAMME REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING:
Intermediate and Intermediate Foundation have no specific pre-requisite, however, it is strongly recommended that students studying Intermediate have taken their Intermediate Foundation, to ensure correct progression of skills.

BACK TO BALLET COURSE

This is a great opportunity for students to improve fitness and finetune technique before the start of the academic year. This course is open to all students aged 12+.

Pointe work - invitation only for pointe dependent on experience for safety reasons, but open to all on flat

Pas de Deux - invitation only for safety reasons, but all welcome to observe. If you have a query about whether you will be eligible to take part, please ask

Ballet Body Con - to include both strength and stretch, open to all

RAD Vocational Grades Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1, Advanced 2 - all welcome to observe, and all students welcome to take one or more grade for experience at a level allocated close to your ability. For example, if you regularly take Intermediate Foundation, you would be welcome to additionally try Intermediate for extra practice if you wished. If you don't take a grade, you will be allocated at least one level by the ballet team. All levels are open for other participants to view and take notes.

The cost of the three-day course is a very reasonable flat fee of £150. Within this, you may attend and view as many classes as you can manage or wish to attend. The course places are limited and available on a first come first served basis. All fees are non-refundable. The course will close for bookings on Fri 5th August at 18:00, or when the course is full, whichever comes first.
