What Are Italia Conti Scholarships?

Each year, Italia Conti awards a limited number of musical theatre scholarships in the UK for full-time training, designed to support students who show exceptional promise during the audition process. These scholarships are granted at the discretion of the directors and vary in value, from partial contributions to full tuition fee coverage.

Scholarships are available for the Diploma-level courses, and cover tuition fees only. Living costs, accommodation, and other expenses are not included.

Applications for a scholarship can be made at the time of submitting your main course application. All awards are based strictly on performance at audition, with no separate academic or financial requirements.

Other Support

As well as musical theatre scholarships in the UK, Italia Conti offers audition fee waivers and deposit waivers to help remove financial barriers for eligible applicants.

You may qualify for an audition fee waiver or deposit waiver if your household income is under £25,000 per year, or if you meet widening participation criteria such as:

  • Being a young person in care or a care leaver
  • Being estranged from your family
  • Acting as a young adult carer
  • Being from a Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showman or Boater background
  • Having refugee status
  • Living in an area of multiple deprivation or a low participation neighbourhood (as defined by IMD or POLAR 4 data).

Applications must be submitted in writing to the finance team along with relevant evidence (e.g., a P60 or confirmation of care status). Approved applicants will be guided through the process to continue their application without financial barriers.
