About Italia Conti

WORK FOR US

Since 1911, we’ve delivered performing arts training – and we’re also its future. This means there has never been a more exciting time to join us!

Italia Conti is one of the UK’s leading performing arts colleges. We offer world-class vocational training in Musical Theatre, Dance and Acting at FE and HE level. Our journey is one of continual evolution and we are always seeking talented individuals to join our team.

For further information about the vacancies we currently have available, please look below.

Applicants must have an unblemished, proven record of success and share Italia Conti’s commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and promoting the performing arts. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and online / public domain checks in accordance with safer recruitment procedures.

Application for vacant posts is by completion of our standard Application Form and Equal Opportunities Monitoring Forms. The Application Form requires a Supporting Statement where applicants are asked to set out their interest in the role and how they meet the essential criteria for the post (akin to a covering letter). For this, we are happy to accept instead a short (no longer than 5 minutes) video should applicants prefer. Please complete both forms and send them, together with a link to a video where appropriate, to recruitment@italiaconti.co.uk, stating clearly in the subject line of the e-mail the job title of the post for which you are applying.

JOB LISTINGS

Timetabling & Operations Assistant

  • £23,000-£26,000 per annum
  • Full-time. Permanent
  • Based at Italia Conti, Victoria Place, Woking

Have you ever thought of a career in administration in the arts or education, supporting everything that goes in to the smooth-running an organisation?

Would you relish the opportunity to join our small, friendly operations team, helping to provide the administrative support that underpins our courses in acting, dance and musical theatre with a particular focus on timetabling and scheduling?

It can be a hugely rewarding career pathway if you have a keen eye for detail and would enjoy having the opportunity to gain a good general oversight of everything that’s involved in the delivery of courses and programmes that a small to mid-sized provider of performing arts training can uniquely offer.

A particular focus of this post will be supporting our Timetabling & Scheduling Manager with timetabling and scheduling across the institution. Beyond this, there is the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the work of our Operations Team. It’s a busy and thoroughgoing role where no two days are ever the same – and an exciting time to join us at our brand-new campus in Woking.

Ideally you’ll have a good undergraduate degree/diploma in a relevant discipline or a thorough understanding and awareness of all of the underpinning administration needed to ensure the smooth-running of a business gained through experience. What will really mark you out as a strong candidate will be your proactive approach and excellent organisational and administrative skills. And naturally, you’ll love what we do, be willing to get stuck in as part of a small, friendly team and be an all-round communicator – articulate, open, collaborative and a pleasure to work with.

If it sounds like a challenge that would inspire you we would love to hear from you.

Our classes run from 8.00am-8.15pm, Monday to Saturday during term-time, and the Operations Team provide cover throughout the week. The 37.5 hours-per-week for this full-time post would be spread across our opening hours from Monday to Friday when classes are in session. This typically includes 2 later evenings with a start time of 12noon and a finish time of 8.30pm. There is the potential to offer some flexibility which may suit those balancing work and childcare or caring commitments or simply seeking an alternative working pattern.

Executive Assistant to Senior Leadership Team & Business Support Coordinator

  • £34,000 to £38,000 per annum
  • Full-time. Permanent
  • Based at Italia Conti, Victoria Place, Woking

Are you a confident and organised Executive Assistant who thrives on variety and pace?

Do you have experience supporting senior leaders, coordinating across departments, and keeping complex operations running smoothly?

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the centre of one of the UK’s leading performing arts institutions. As Executive Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team & Business Support Coordinator, you’ll provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Principal as well as broader coordination support to the wider Senior Leadership Team and Business Support departments.

Your work will span diary management, correspondence, project coordination and event planning alongside day-to-day office and site-based activity. You’ll play a key role in ensuring communication, logistics and operations across the institution run efficiently and professionally.

Working closely with teams in Marketing, Events, Engagement & Development, IT, Finance, HR, and Estates, you’ll help connect the strategic and operational strands of the business. From coordinating contractors and facilities projects to managing alumni data, supporting Board preparation, and assisting with internal and external events, you’ll be a trusted central point of contact with touchpoints across the organisation.

We’re looking for someone who brings initiative, accuracy and is calm under pressure. You’ll need excellent interpersonal and digital skills, strong judgement, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’ll be comfortable handling confidential information, managing competing priorities, and occasionally rolling up your sleeves to support day-to-day office activity.

In return, you’ll be part of a creative, values-driven institution at an exciting stage in its development. Italia Conti has grown significantly since relocating to its new purpose-built campus in central Woking in 2022, uniting over 650 students, 140 staff and 15 programmes under one roof for the very first time.

If you’re motivated by supporting people and processes that help the arts thrive, and if you take pride in delivering work that keeps an organisation running at its best, we’d love to hear from you.

I wanted to do the BA Hons (Top Up) in Professional Arts Practice course to further develop my skills for the industry. It is the perfect balance between academic writing and creativity. I am working with driven, passionate, likeminded people within all different realms of the performing arts industry. I find that the course is very tailored to each individual and the content is broad enough to apply to everyone but specific enough to challenge each person within their abilities. I find the course to be a place where I can collaborate and interact with people who I’d never had met otherwise. I only look forward to what the next few months of the course bring and feel more motivated than ever.”
