Since 1911, we have delivered over one hundred years of performing arts training – and we are also its future. This means there has never been a more exciting time to join us!
Italia Conti is one of the UK’s leading performing arts colleges. We offer world-class vocational training in Musical Theatre, Dance and Acting at FE and HE level. Our journey is one of continual evolution and we are always seeking talented individuals to join our team.
For further information about the vacancies we currently have available, please look below.
Applicants must have an unblemished, proven record of success and share Italia Conti’s commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and promoting the performing arts. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and online / public domain checks in accordance with safer recruitment procedures.
Application for vacant posts is by completion of our standard Application Form and Equal Opportunities Monitoring Forms. The Application Form requires a Supporting Statement where applicants are asked to set out their interest in the role and how they meet the essential criteria for the post (akin to a covering letter). For this, we are happy to accept instead a short (no longer than 5 minutes) video should applicants prefer. Please complete both forms and send them, together with a link to a video where appropriate, to email@example.com, stating clearly in the subject line of the e-mail the job title of the post for which you are applying.
Do you have experience of managing a timetable for a busy educational establishment?
Would you relish the opportunity to join our small, friendly operations team, taking responsibility for timetabling and scheduling for our courses in acting, dance and musical theatre?
In September 2022 Italia Conti relocated from its three historic sites to one brand new purpose-built campus in central Woking. Bringing our 550 students, 140 staff and Sessional Tutors and 10 courses together under one roof for the very first time was a hugely exciting step for us, and key to the success of the operation was our substantive Timetabling & Scheduling Manager who is going on maternity leave in May 2024. Consequently we are in need of an experienced timetabler to take over the task of timetabling, ensuring we maximise the use of our spaces in the medium term. We foresee significant development in this area in the coming months and years and so rather than merely a maternity cover role, we are recruiting to a brand new permanent post.
You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager and team, Course Leaders, Head Tutors and IT Manager to support the planning and delivery of the timetable using ProSolution (our timetabling Management Information System) and changes throughout the term. It’s a busy and thoroughgoing role where no two days are ever the same – and hugely exciting time to join our small, friendly, collegial team. If timetabling and scheduling is your forte, we offer a genuine opportunity to really make your mark on an organisation going through lots of exciting change, helping to establish, embed and improve processes and procedures that are failsafe.
Ideally you’ll have a good undergraduate degree/diploma in a relevant discipline or a thorough understanding and awareness of all of the underpinning administration needed to ensure the planning and smooth-running of a timetable gained through experience. What will really mark you out as a strong candidate will be your proactive approach and excellent relationship-building, organisational and administrative skills. And naturally, you’ll love what we do, be willing to get stuck in and be an all-round communicator – articulate, open, collaborative and a pleasure to work with.
If you are an experienced timetabler looking for an exciting new opportunity and this sounds like a challenge that would inspire you we would love to hear from you.
For further details, download a full job description and person specification below. Please also download and complete our application form and equal opportunities monitoring form and return both to us together. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and state clearly in the subject line of the e-mail the job title of the post for which you are applying.
The closing date for applications is Monday 29 January, 6.00pm.
Interviews will take place in early-mid February 2024.
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Only applicants shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
We foster a business culture where decisions and ideas from all people help us innovate, grow, and create the best environment for our students and staff and ensure we stay relevant in a rapidly changing world.
Equality, diversity and inclusion matters at Italia Conti. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual’s unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential. We try to embed an inclusive mindset in everything we do.
We positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, gender, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion or belief. As part of our drive to improve representation within our staff team, we would particularly welcome interest from Global Majority and LGBTQI+ applicants.
Do you have a professional background or specialism in the area of safeguarding children and young people?
Would you relish joining the Advisory Board of one of Britain’s oldest performing arts training institutions?
Over the past 2 years we have established an Advisory Board with experienced leaders who play an instrumental role in guiding our strategy, acting as advisors to the Senior Leadership Team and our Board of Directors. Members of our Advisory Board love the performing arts and take a proactive interest in the work and life of Italia Conti.
We have young people on our courses between the ages of 16 and 18, in addition to children who train with our Associate Schools across the country, and consequently we are seeking an Advisory Board member specifically to act in an advisory capacity in the area of safeguarding, supporting our dedicated team of 5 established staff who make up our Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team.
There could hardly be a more inspiring time to be involved with Italia Conti. In September 2022 we moved into a brand new, purpose-built campus a few minutes’ walk from Woking Station. The excitement is palpable as we build on our past successes and chart a new course for the future. This past September we launched our first ever Masters-level programme in The Spoken Voice and our first degree exclusively in Dance, and we have bold aspirations for the future. Diversity and inclusion is high on our agenda, and we are keen to receive applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Our Advisory Board meets three times annually, usually via Microsoft Teams, with one in-person meeting per year. Outside of these we would look to you to lead a sub-committee in safeguarding and to be involved with the work of our Safeguarding & Wellbeing Team and all the activity that goes on in this pivotal area of our work and the support we have in place for our students.
If your professional background is combined with an interest in the performing arts and you would be interested in helping us to continue to push the boundaries and continually improve on what we do, we would love to hear from you. In return we offer the opportunity to be closely involved with our work and to be part of our exciting plans for the future, complimentary tickets to our productions and the chance to make a difference to the lives of performers-in-training along with other like-minded professionals.
To apply, please submit a covering letter setting out your professional background, interest in Italia Conti and an indication of what you can contribute and an up-to-date CV. Please also download and complete our equal opportunities monitoring form. Please send all three documents by e-mail to email@example.com, stating clearly in the subject line of the e-mail the job title of the post for which you are applying.

I’m a dancer in LA and can’t keep up with my peers on how often they take dance classes. This channel has been so helpful for me to keep up my training. Thank you for sharing this with the world. I feel like we are all dancing together even though we are all doing this at different times and in different spaces. 🖤
Best ballet teacher on the internet❤ Great explanation, enthusiasm and commentary throughout the exercise!
Thank you! It’s such a blessing to be able to access these exercises for free at home. I really truly appreciate it. Beautiful work from both in the video here
It’s fantastic. Showcases, shows, summer shows, carol concerts. It’s very full on but I don’t wake up regretting coming here. It is the best thing ever!
