MUSICAL THEATRE / JAZZ DANCE TEACHER
£ Competitive - Based in Barbican, London & Guildford, Surrey
Italia Conti are looking for an experienced Musical Theatre teacher with a specialism in Jazz with extensive Musical Theatre choreographic experience, with the ability to develop a strong link between theory and practice and utilising innovative teaching and assessment activities reflective of the Musical Theatre industry. Your dance specialism may be Musical Theatre Jazz or Commercial Dance.
Italia Conti is one of the UK’s leading performing arts colleges ranked ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and offers world class vocational training in Musical Theatre, Dance and Acting at Secondary, FE and HE level.
You will be an inspiring facilitator who can provide an outstanding student experience for our student body at FE and HE levels on our 3 Year Musical Theatre and Dance Diplomas and our 3 Year BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Programme. The role could be either full or part time.
Depending on your skillset you may teach Musical Theatre Classes, Song and Move classes, Musical Theatre projects, Jazz and choreograph third year shows, showcases and public performances.
You will ensure the curricula are delivered as written and contribute to their continued development and implementation.
You will be required to work at both our Barbican and Guildford sites.
You will have a diploma or first/ postgraduate degree in a relevant subject, an extensive knowledge of the Musical Theatre repertoire and a teaching qualification (or the willingness to achieve one within two years.)
You will be an excellent communicator and thrive in a vibrant and busy working environment. You will be willing to contribute fully to the working life of the college such as undertaking pastoral and/or administrative duties where necessary.
