CO-HEAD OF DANCE

Italia Conti is one of the UK’s leading performing arts colleges ranked ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and offers world-class, triple-threat vocational training in Musical Theatre, Dance and Acting at Secondary, FE and HE level.
As Co-Head of Dance at Italia Conti you will be an inspiring leader who will ensure an outstanding student experience for our student body at FE and HE levels. The role is full time.
You will jointly oversee the provision of Dance on our MT Diploma and Degree courses at our Guildford and Barbican campuses.
Dance at Italia Conti encompasses Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin, Tap Commercial, PBT, Horton Technique, Aerial and Tricks.
You will be an exceptional choreographer who is able to create exciting and original work, which showcases our students at all levels of their training.
You will be responsible for recruiting and managing the Dance faculty and for teaching some classes, dependent on your specialism. You will sit on the audition panel and be responsible for choreography on our Musicals, Summer Show and Dance Course Show. You will also be responsible for choreographing some numbers for high profile external events such as Move It.
You will ensure the curricula are delivered as written and be responsible for their continual development and implementation.
You will be required to work at both our Barbican and Guildford sites.
Ideally you will have a postgraduate degree and teaching qualification in a relevant subject, though a candidate with extensive relevant performing and / or teaching experience will be considered.
You will be an excellent communicator and manager and thrive in a vibrant and busy working environment. You will initiate organisational change and deliver the Italia Conti's vision for the future.
