Do you have a professional background working at a senior level in the commercial or education sectors or the performing arts industry?

Would you relish the opportunity to join the Governing Body for Britain’s first performing arts academy and its evolution to become a leading Higher Education provider in the sector?

Founded in 1911, Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts has a proud history of training some of the biggest names on stage and screen.

We are on the cusp of an exciting programme of change which will see us transform our estates, realign ourselves with the evolving education landscape, refocus on our FE and HE provision and ensure we maintain our leading position in the sector.

As part of this, we are looking to expand our Governing Body with leaders in their fields who can help inform and guide our strategy as we move forward, acting as trusted advisors to the Senior Leadership Team and taking a proactive interest in the work and life of Italia Conti. We would be particularly interested to hear from applicants with backgrounds in:

  • Finance

  • People Management

  • HE & FE

  • Law

  • Change Management

  • Marketing

  • Fundraising and

  • Property and Estates

Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of what we do, and we would be keen to receive applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds or experience in change projects and/or research with increased social impact. One designated member of the Governing Body will have responsibility for overseeing this area as Social Impact Governor.

We hold three meetings annually, usually via Zoom, with one in-person meeting per year, and outside of these would look to you to be part of one of our sub-committees, taking forward and championing initiatives and supporting the work of Italia Conti.

If your professional background is combined with an interest in the performing arts and keenness to help us to continuously improve, innovate and ensure we can be the very best, we would love to hear from you.

To apply, please submit a CV and Covering Letter setting out your professional background, your interest in becoming a Governor of Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and an indication of what you can contribute and e-mail this to:

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 30 September 2020 at 6.00pm.

The selection process will involve two interviews with existing members of the Governing Body and the Senior Leadership Team.

Only applicants shortlisted for interview will be contacted.

Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, gender, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion or belief.
