Italia Conti has always recognised that the industry demands excellent standards of training in all areas. Our aim has always been to develop courses that fulfil these goals. 

Italia Conti’s reputation is renowned throughout the world, and demand for the training led to the opening of part-time Associate Schools across the country. 

No audition is required, as we wish to encourage participation in the arts for all abilities. 

Classes are offered to students between 3 and 18 years. Whether it is for recreation, physical and social development, or as a serious step towards a long-term career in the performing arts, the emphasis is always on enjoyment and first-class training. 

Our school delivers excellent classes throughout the week including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz Fusion, Musical Theatre, Acting, Singing, LAMDA, Heels, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Aerial, and Acrobatic Arts. 

We also offer Assistant Teacher Qualifications with the Royal Academy of Dance and Acrobatic Arts.

What We Do

Creative and engaging classes developing confidence, communication skills, and theatrical understanding. 

Students explore contemporary and classical texts, devising, improvisation, camera work, and physical theatre. LAMDA qualifications and TV Presentation examinations are also available. 

Students develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and artistry whilst working on aerial silks, hoops, and sling techniques. 

Classes focus on technique, class etiquette, perseverance, stamina, flexibility, and strength following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. 

Students may take examinations from Pre-Primary through to Advanced 2, alongside the Assistant Teacher Award. 

Students combine dancing, singing, and acting to create exciting and believable triple-threat performances inspired by the West End, Broadway, and film. 

Group ensemble singing classes covering Musical Theatre, Pop, and Rock repertoire. 

Students also have opportunities to perform solo work as confidence and ability develop. 

A blend of dance and gymnastics designed to enhance physical development, flexibility, coordination, and strength. 

Jazz classes develop all-round dance technique through kicks, jumps, leaps, and turns. 

Students study the Rambert Contemporary Dance syllabus, exploring musicality, dynamics, movement quality, and expression in a supportive environment. 

Tap classes develop rhythm, timing, theatricality, expression, and stagecraft across a range of styles. 

Students may also work towards ISTD Tap examinations. 

Heels classes improve posture, coordination, balance, core strength, and overall versatility as performers. 

Structured graded classes following the ISTD syllabus with a focus on posture, core strength, and technical development. 

A combination of Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop styles developing flexibility, coordination, musicality, and expressive storytelling through movement. 

Becky-Ann Camp 

Principal

After winning a scholarship to train at The Urdang Academy with Leonie Urdang at the age of 11, Becky-Ann went on to continue her training at Laine Theatre Arts. 

She enjoyed a successful professional performing career across television, the West End, pantomime productions throughout the UK, and international cruise contracts. 

Since retiring from performing to start a family, Becky-Ann has built a highly successful teaching career, working with students aged 2 to 19 across Plymouth before becoming Principal and RAD Ballet teacher at Italia Conti Associates Plymouth. 

Becky-Ann has also been part of the RAD International Summer School faculty for 18 years, teaching both in the UK and internationally. 

She has worked with Birmingham Royal Ballet as Rehearsal Assistant on their Dreams Project and is also part of the Ballet Boost Associates teaching faculty in Exeter and Wales. 

With more than 20 years of teaching experience and many former students now performing in Ballet companies and the West End, Becky-Ann is passionate about nurturing the next generation of performers and making the performing arts accessible to all.
