Our summer acting programme offers an exciting curriculum that covers various aspects of acting, including voice, movement, improvisation, and scene work. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, students will gain invaluable insights into the craft of acting and the industry and learn from incredible teachers who bring years of experience to each and every class as part of our acting summer school.

Pre-vocational level training: an intensive programme designed to prepare students for full-time training in Performing Arts.
Expert tuition from experienced staff and industry professionals across acting, voice, movement, and more.
Comprehensive acting curriculum: covering acting scenes, acting skills, camera, devising, improvisation, radio, acting through song, and voice.
Open to ages 12 to 18: students are divided into groups according to age, ensuring tailored training at every level.
End-of-week sharing performance: showcase your work to friends and family on the final day.

Classes may include:

Acting Scenes: Exploring scenes and breaking down text to find character and relationships.
Acting Skills: Exploring different acting techniques and practitioners through practice-based exercises.
Camera: Exploring acting for camera in both solo and partner work.
Devising: Exploring story-creation and storytelling, working in groups to develop ideas from a stimulus.
Improvisation: Exploring multiple characters, situations, and relationships in a non-text-based environment.
Radio: Exploring acting for radio with audio drama and voice over pieces within a professional recording studio.
Acting Through Song: Exploring storytelling and character work through singing.
Voice: exploring vocal ease, support, and clarity of speech through text and non-text-based activities.

Dates | Monday 26 July to Friday 30 July 2027

Day | Monday to Thursday: 9am to 5pm

Time | Friday: 9am to end of performance sharing (Time TBC)

Please note that lunch and accommodation are not included.
Students will be divided into groups according to age. There will be a short sharing performance on the final day (times of sharings to be confirmed nearer the time).

We hope to welcome family members to the performances on the Friday afternoon. Ticket numbers will be limited, further details will be released nearer the time.

There are many options for hotels in the local area. Participants 16+ looking for a more immersive university-taster experience can contact halls of residence providers who often have availability in the summer months.
