Sam Tutty trained at Italia Conti before making his professional debut in one of the most celebrated musical theatre productions of recent years. In 2019, he originated the role of Evan Hansen in the West End premiere of Dear Evan Hansen at the Noël Coward Theatre — a performance of extraordinary emotional depth that immediately marked him as a major talent.
He has since continued to build a distinctive career across stage and musical theatre. He starred as Romeo in a 2021 filmed theatre production of Romeo & Juliet, released online during the pandemic lockdowns and has also starred in Two Strangers Carry A Cake Across New York, first in the West End and later on Broadway, where the production transferred to international acclaim.
In 2020, he won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for the role, becoming one of the youngest winners in the award’s history at just 22. His career continues to develop with the same ambition and commitment that defined his remarkable debut.
