Biography

Layton Williams trained at Italia Conti and made his West End debut at the age of twelve in Billy Elliot the Musical, where he played the title role — a remarkable start to a career that has continued to grow in ambition and reach.

He went on to star as Jamie New in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie in the West End and reprised the role in Los Angeles. He is also widely known for his role as Stephen Carmichael in the BBC comedy Bad Education. In 2023, he reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing, and in 2024 he starred as The Emcee in the West End production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club — a performance that confirmed his place among the leading talents in British musical theatre.

Awards & Recognition

Layton made his West End debut as Billy Elliot in Billy Elliot the Musical, age 12.

He starred as Jamie New in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (West End and Los Angeles) and played Stephen Carmichael in Bad Education (BBC).

In 2023, Layton was a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing (2023).

He starred as The Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (West End, 2024).
